The hotels in Varadero

Tourism development has taken place from west to east. The older hotels are located at the beginning of the Hicacos peninsula, with a length of over 22 kms. It is now developed throughout its length with the last addition of the Barcelo Marina Palace.

There are 52 hotels in Varadero for a total of about 18,000 rooms (these figures are unofficial, as there are many more hotels that are not offered by foreign tour operators).

There are hotels from 2 to 5 star. For every budget depending on how easy to adapt you are. The hotel zone is located on the north side of the peninsula, near the beach. The south is mostly occupied by mangroves..

These hotels offer an « all-inclusive » the formula which means meals, drinks, activities, non motorized water sports and other services are included in your travel package. However, tips are at your discretion and are not included. The average tip in Cuba is 1-2 pesos (CUC) depending on the service received. A « muchas gracias » with a beautiful smile is always appreciated! PLEASE do not give tips in a currency other than Convertible Pesos. The Varadero golf course is located right in the center of the peninsula. This is the only golf course in Cuba. It occupies a narrow strip of 3.5 km land. It was designed by the architect Les Furber.
